jewelry stand #2 - walnut, purpleheart, brass

145.00

I'm not sure why I started building jewelry stands, but once I started I had a hard time stopping. There's something compelling about their simplicity and the interplay of materials -- the bright, luminous brass contrasting with deep, dark wood. In any case, I've made quite a few and no two are alike.

This piece has a base of laminated purpleheart and walnut. The post is hand-carved walnut which is mortised into the base. At the top, a purpleheart earring holder is connected to the post by a tricky pair of dovetails. A notched brass rod extends from the post to hang bracelets and necklaces from. A hexagonal brass ring holder is inset on the other end of the stand.

dimensions: base - 6" x 2.25" height - 10"
