jewelry stand #8 - walnut, padauk, brass

145.00

I'm not sure why I started building jewelry stands, but once I started I had a hard time stopping. There's something compelling about their simplicity and the interplay of materials -- the bright, luminous brass contrasting with deep, dark wood. In any case, I've made quite a few and no two are alike.

This piece has a walnut base with lovely, streaky grain. The post is walnut which is mortised into the base. At the top, a padauk earring holder is connected to the post by a simple, single dovetail. Two notched brass rods extend from the post to hang bracelets and necklaces from. A hexagonal brass ring holder is inset on the other end of the stand.

dimensions: base - 6" x 4" height - 11"
